Levels 1-3 in English start in September
Due to the numerous enquiries, The Wine & Spirits Professional Centre (WSPC®) in Athens will run all WSET levels in English. WSET Level 1 Award in Wines begins on September 12, 2015. This is a 13-hour course offering an excellent starting point for exploring various wine styles, their pairing with food, and the correct storage and serving conditions. The two-day course includes a workshop with tastings lasting for five hours each and students are required to take a 2.5-hour exams at the end of the level. Level 1 is conveniently held over the weekend, so we have even less reasons to hesitate.
WSET Level 2 Award in Wines starts immediately after the end of the Level 1 (September 14, 2015) and has a duration of 27 hours (5 days). The course covers the main grape varieties, their paring with food, as well as sparkling and fortified wines. Tastings included!
WSET Level 3 Award in Wines begins on September 21, 2015 and provides knowledge related to a large number of wines and spirits applicable to upper management in the industry. The course lasts seven days and covers factors influencing the style, quality and price of wines and spirits from major regions of the world. In Level 3, students will not only learn how to accurately describe wines but also how to analyse their origin, style and quality.
WSPC® offers Combo packages for those wishing to take full course set (Levels 1-3) or Level 1 and Level 2 back to back. The fee for Level 1 is €340.00 for all EU citizens, and the Combo package for all levels is €1,970.00. The amount includes course materials and exam fee. The deadline for registration for Level 1 is August 28, 2015. Accommodation and traveling expenses might be an extra burden to your pocket, but hey! This is Greece in the summer! Who said ‘holiday’?
